Pirates In Black Falo Faltu Metal Journey Lüdenscheid

Yeah that was a hell of a blast!!!!! APR-13-2019: The bloody rotten Pirates In Black rocked Luedenscheid, plundering the fridge, and burning down the stage! All of that after our friends from Fortress nailed down some serious heavy metal cover songs.

And we have got a very nice review from Björn Othlinghaus (who also took the great picture above). The review was published in the local press. It is written in German language. You will find a translation below the original version.

Gnadenloser Dampfhammer-Sound

Merciless Steamhammering Sound

(Translation: Falo Faltu)
“[Some remarks about the location, the Metal Journey, and the other band Fortress] After that the Pirates In Black from Wuppertal convinced the audience all along the line. The band, consisting of front man Captain Falo Faltu, Quartermaster Accu Becher (guitar), Gunner Carl Clover (bass) and Powder Monkey Hans Heringer (drums), reminded with their meaty hardrock songs of bands like Motörhead and Black Sabbath (with Ozzy as a singer) in the best sense. Paying tribute to those two formations with self-written songs was definitely one goal of the Pirates in Black (formed in late 2016). And that was embodied very clear by the four pirate costumes wearing musicians.
Bassplayer Gunner Carl Clover wore a hat which would had also pleased Motörhead singer Lemmy Kilmister very much. And the song “The Servant And The God Of The Metal Nation” with its merciless steamhammering sound might had been penned by that rock idol, too. The heavy sagging seven minutes song “All Alone” on the other hand referred very much to good old Black Sabbath tunes as well as “My Name” in which Accu Becher went strong with a ridiculous guitar solo [Remark: Actually Falo Faltu plays the solo in “My Name” … but Accu’s solos are ridiculous anyhow]. The song “Ride It On” proofed that pirates also love to drive fast cars. And Hans Heringer aced with an energetic drum solo after that song. “Ahab” finally told the well known story about the ole seafarer hunting the white whale. As one of the last songs the band pulled an interesting and willfully heavy version of Pink Floyd’s “Welcome To The Machine” out of the black Lemmy-Leatherhat.
The show of the boys from Wuppertal was very entertaining especially for those who love that style of music. ”
